How to erect a simple 10,000 BBL fuel/water tank
(simple my AS_)

Brought to you by those good folks of the
697th Engineer Company (Pipeline)

According to the good old reliable military manual the approximate time to erect a 10,000 BBL tank is 7 days. Remember that this time is under ideal weather conditions, having the proper tools/parts and the correct number of people. Since we could not meet any of the conditions as stated, we were lucky if it was up in a month

Pick a spot First, you have to pick a good spot, level, not marshy, no trees , etc. This will probably be dictated to you by higher up's, doesn't matter if you like it or not. Uhhh...are you sure about this?
The spot Now this looks more like it. Looks like someone has already started to work on it.
D7 pushin dirt Then you call the other engineer unit (in this case, the 561st Engineer Company) back to build the burms. They will bring in some heavy equipment.
830 scraper A little more help to get it just right. The 561st did a hell of a job for us.
Concrete floor After the ground is level and everything is ready a ?" thick floor is laid. All trash, rubble, etc. is removed after it dries.
Tanks here.. While the concrete is drying you call your local transport company to deliver your tank. Unload it and check to see if all the parts are there.
Lot's of parts Boy, there are millions of parts to this thing...hope the instructions are there too!
Tank parts Ok, seems to be all here. Let's get started!
