Now that we have the right spot picked, burm built and the concrete pad down, it's time to get this sucker together.
Assembling the floor. As you can see in the photo, the floor has to be assembled and laid first. Many fingers, toes (if your not wearing your steel toed shoes) and other parts receive bumps, bruises, scrapes, cuts...well, you get the picture...during this..well, during all phases of this operation. |
We believe this is PFC Faulk checking the floor over as the assembly continues. Got to watch for any kind of trash or rubble that must be removed. |
Well, just one more piece and the floor will be finsihed. (what is this...1 supervisor for each worker?) |
Wow..lot's of work but it is finally down. Good job guys! Take a break.... |
Breaks over...back to work! This is what we called the crows nest...yes, they have them in the Navy to, just a little different. (must have some really big crows there) Actually it holds the roof sections together in the center. |
Now it's time to assemble the pole to get the nest where it belongs (with a little help from PL 50) | |
With a little help from PL 50 the pole is up and almost finished. Tighten a few bolts here and there and we have made. |
Well, there you see it. Nice new floor with a crow's nest. Now clean up a little, take a break, then start on the heavy stuff. Anybody got a cold Singhi? |
